Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) is one of Asia’s leading conglomerates.

Its headquarters are in Bangkok, and the group employs over 250,000 people worldwide. CP Retailing and Marketing Co. Ltd (CP-RAM) is the division that specialises in production of high quality frozen foods. CP-RAM’s base is Patum Thani, Thailand, with a state of the art facility that continuously adapts to meet the growing demand for its range of quality foods.

In 2005 CP-RAM decided that storage facilities had to expand, to keep pace with growth. After careful evaluation of the options, STORAX mobile racking was selected for the new freezer store. Working together with long term partner MHE-Demag, the system opened recently. It provides capacity for storage of 4400 pallets of frozen foods. CP-RAM benefits from the advantages that STORAX mobile racking has to offer, namely high density of storage, combined with direct access to all pallets loads. It is so dense that in fact, each 2.4 cubic metre pallet in this cold store occupies a mere 4.75 cubic metres, driving down refrigeration cost and minimising environmental impact. And since it is STORAX mobile racking, occupancy levels in the store are in the region 90-100%, in contrast to other types of high density storage systems with only indirect access to pallets.

All in all, CP-RAM is very satisfied with this STORAX system, which is just one of a series of STORAX mobile racks for the CP-Group in Asia.
